Soprano Rebecca Tomlinson is a regular performer with the Los Angeles Opera where she has appeared in over 70 productions with world-renowned singers such as Placido Domingo, Renee Fleming, Anna Netrebko and Susan Graham. Past roles with LA Opera include Handmaiden in Turandot, Georgette in La Rondine, Zweite Schwalbe in Die Vogel, First Page in Lohengrin, The Cousin in Madama Butterfly, Servant Girl in Gezeichneten and First Bridesmaid in Marriage of Figaro. On the concert stage Rebecca has performed extensivley as a soloist with local orchestras and choruses in repertoire such as Haydn’s Harmoniemesse, Mozart’s Requiem, Exultate Jubilate, and Vesperae Solennes, Brahms’ Ein Deutches Requiem and Orff’s Carmina Burana. A passionate advocate of contemporary music, Rebecca performed a recital entitled Breath of the Compassionate, comprised entirely of micro-tonal music. Rebecca graduated Cum Laude from the University of Redlands with a Bachelor of Music majoring in Flute Performance. She also holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Voice from UCLA, where she studied with Dr. Timothy Mussard, Nina Hinson and William Vendice. Rebecca is currently a member of the faculty at Riverside Community College and Mt. San Antonio College.
