A native of Amarillo, Texas, violinist Marisa Sorajja joined the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra as the Associate Principal Violin II in 2015. An avid performer in Southern California, she currently serves as Principal First Violin of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, First Assistant Concertmaster of the New West Symphony, and is a member of the first violin section of Pacific Symphony. Additionally, Marisa performs with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and has been a guest concertmaster of the Muse/Ique ensemble and New West Symphony. She is the former concertmaster of the Jeunesse Musicales World Orchestra, the Colburn Orchestra, and the Young Musicians Foundation Debut Orchestra. She has also been a past participant in the Aspen Music Festival, the International Holland Music Sessions, New York String Orchestra Seminar, and the Premio Paganini International Violin Competition. Marisa holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Southern California, where she studied with Robert Lipsett. She continued her studies with him at the Colburn School Conservatory of Music where she obtained an Artist Diploma.
